In March 2026, Fred Grossenbach traveled to Florida expecting a season of rest and relaxation. After major surgery to stabilize his back, he found himself in the hospital 4 days later fighting for his life. A twisted bowel required emergency surgery, and the days that followed were filled with uncertainty, pain, and a long road to recovery. At 85 years old, after more than fifty years of faithfully following Jesus, sharing the Gospel, teaching Bible studies, and serving others, Fred found himself praying to go home, to spend eternity with his Savior.
As he prayed, God reminded him of a truth that echoed the words of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane: "Not my will, but Yours be done." Fred surrendered his future into God's hands. A few nights later, he asked the Lord why he was still alive. This time, the answer that was impressed upon his heart was simple, unexpected, and unforgettable: “I want you to tell people that
"Jesus is crazy about you."
Since that moment, Fred has shared that message everywhere he goes—with nurses, therapists, friends, family members, and complete strangers. Time and time again, people have been encouraged by the reminder that they are deeply loved by God. What began as a message in a hospital room has become a movement with momentum, conversation starter, a testimony, and a ministry opportunity. Fred's story is not ultimately about surviving a medical emergency. It's about a Savior who pursues people with relentless love and a simple message that continues to point hearts back to Jesus—one conversation at a time.
